Finished Size: Measuring at knuckles – Extra Small = 6”, Small = 7”, Medium = 8”, Large = 9”

Yarn: Garnstudio Silke-Tweed (52% silk, 48% wool; 218 yd. [200 m]/1.75 oz. [50 g]: 1 skein

Hook: size G or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: 6 small buttons, sewing needle and thread to match yarn

Gauge: 4” x 4” = 18 sts x 18 rows


Pattern


Directions are given as Extra Small (Small, Medium, Large). Glove is worked from the bottom up.

Make two of the following:

1. ch 30 (34, 38, 42). Turn.

2. hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. 28 (32, 36, 40) sts. ch 2, turn.

3. hdc in each st across. 28 (32, 36, 40) sts. ch 2, turn.

4. hdc in next st, (ch 1, sk 1) in next st, hdc in rest of sts across. ch 2, turn.

5. hdc in each st across. 28 (32, 36, 40) sts. ch 2, turn.

6 – 9. repeat rows 3 and 4 twice.

10. sl st in first two sts, ch 1, hdc for 24 (28, 32,36) sts. leave last 2 sts unworked. ch 2, turn.

11. hdc in next 24 (28, 32,36) sts. ch 2, turn.

For Small, Medium, and Large Only: 12. hdc in next (28, 32,36) sts. ch 2, turn.

For Medium and Large Only: 13. hdc in next (32,36) sts. ch 2, turn.

For Large Only: 14. hdc in next (36) sts. ch 2, turn.

15. 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 22 (26, 30, 34) sts. 2 hdc in last st. 26 (30, 34, 38) sts. 2 inc made. ch 2, turn.

16 - 18. hdc in each st across. 26 (30, 34, 38) sts. ch 2, turn.

For Medium and Large Only: 19. hdc in each st across. (34, 38) sts. ch 2, turn.

For Large Only: 20. hdc in each st across. (38) sts. ch 2, turn.

21. 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 24 (28, 32, 36) sts. 2 hdc in last stitch. 28 (32, 36, 40) sts. 2 inc made. ch 2, turn.

22 - 24. hdc in each st across. 28 (32, 36, 40) sts. ch 2, turn.

For Medium and Large Only: 25. hdc in each st across. (36, 40) sts. ch 2, turn.

For Large Only: 26. hdc in each st across. (40) sts. ch 2, turn.

27. sl st last st of the row just completed to the first st of the same row. Begin to work in the round. hdc in each st around.

Note: When slip stitching in this step, check to make sure the buttonholes rest on the inside of your wrist. You will need to make the gloves face opposite each other so that you have a left and a right hand glove.

28. hdc2Tog in sl st and first hdc. hdc around.

29 – 31. hdc2Tog in first and second st of round. hdc around. 1 dec made.

32. sc in each st around ending with a sl st in the first st of the last row. Fasten off.

33. Sew small buttons opposite the buttonholes.

34. Optional: Attach thread to the bottom edge of either side and sc in each row end around thumb edge. This will smooth out the edge of the hole for the thumb.
